Vintage Pat 1902 Strombergcarlson Oak Crank Telephone
This is a magnificent old (1902) stromberg-carlson oak wallmount telephone with crank! Don't know much about these so i took plenty of pictures.
Measures 25 tall and 9 1/4 wide so nice size. The wood grain on this is absoultey gorgeous. Has a candlestick erceiver that has a few nicks here and there and one small crack. The cord has frayed in some areas as would eb expected for something of this age. All four of the rounded cornesr are handsomely bevelled.
Underneath the mouthpiece etched into teh metal is mfc by stromberg-carlson tel. Mfg. Co. Rochester, n. Y. U. S. A. On the black part of hte same piece is etched, gracraft-leigh electric co.
Genoa, ill. U. S. A. The mouthpiece adjusts straight out or tipped slighlty down.
The piece fo wood which is what i would consider a shelf has cracked across the middle horizontally, and has been glued. You probably would be able to replace this totally if you wanted, but you may also just appreciate the origianl look. It comes with the two original screws to mount it to the wall. Don't know how or if it works, so sold as is. Is it perfect? No.
