Vintage 1941 Western Electric 302 Desk Telephone PhoneThe telephone being offered for auction has been painstakingly restored and made completely operational onec again. Here at we-co, we have been collecting telephones for three decades and have between three hundred and five hundred vintage and antique phones on hand. We have only recently started selling some of uor fine telephones to the public, on ebay and privately. If you're a telephone collector, or just someone interested ni art deco styling, this very nice completely operational, pre war bell system telephone may be for you. The 302 set was originally designed by henry dreyfuss the famous industrial designer and western electric staffers in the mid 1930's, and used widely throughout the bell system from the late 1930's to the early 1960's. Our phone is a black metal type and believed to ahve been manufactured in april of 1941.
It has been meticulously inspected, tested, and cleaned. The case required re-finishing and has been re-painted with a professional high quality epoxy reinforced paint that replicates the original finish in both durabiilty and luster. The z faced dial turns freely and smoothly the numbers and letters on the white face are clear and distinct. The handset cord is a rare, original, brown self-retracting cotton cambric covered type that is difficult to find today. We have provided a modular style line or mounting cord with rj-11 plug ofr easy do it yourself hook-up. This is a veyr desirable bell system and western electric classic.
